Trustee Spotlight – R. Wade Washmon
Robert Wade Washmon has served as Trustee, representing District 1, since 2013. Growing up in Tyler, he attended Clarkston Elementary School, Moore MST Magnet School and graduated from Robert E. Lee High School.
Mr. Washmon says what he values most about serving on the Board of Trustees is having the opportunity to serve the community he grew up in and cares so much about.
“I am especially humbled to be a part of making decisions that impact the lives of the children of Tyler, as they are this community's most valuable asset,” he says.
Mr. Washmon earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from Baylor University in 2004, where he double majored in Business Management and Business Broadcasting. After college, he returned to Tyler and began working with his father at BW Energy Consultants, where he currently serves as Vice President.
Mr. Washmon’s favorite teacher in school was his 7th grade Language Arts teacher, Ms. Ferguson. “She had such a happy and fun energy in the classroom and encouraged creativity and small amounts of chaos. I'll never forget some of the moments had in her classroom,” he says.
Thank you, Mr. Washmon, for your commitment and service on the Tyler ISD Board of Trustees.
