Studies continue to show that early education helps set students on a course for success. The tuition-based Pre-K program in Tyler ISD, housed at Andy Woods Elementary School, is doing just that, and will continue, as enrollment is now open for the 2017-2018 school year.
“My son loves going to school,” Pre-K parent, Jennifer Roach, said. “I wasn’t sure I was ready to send him to real school yet, but he loves it! He has so much fun and has learned so much this year.”
“I’ve never seen my child excel so much than I have at Andy Woods,” Pre-K parent, Lindsey Harrison, said. “The education she is receiving is far beyond my expectation and she will be more than ready for kindergarten.”
Enrollment packets can be picked up at Andy Woods Elementary School, or downloaded from the Tyler ISD or Andy Woods website. Completed packets must be submitted to Andy Woods Elementary School and acceptance is granted on a first come, first served basis.
Letters of acceptance for students selected for placement into the program or a letter for students placed on the waitlist will be mailed to parents after selections are complete. Parents of selected students will be required to pay a $150 deposit at the time of placement to reserve their spot for the 2017‐2018 school year. This deposit will be applied to the first month’s tuition.
“I’m very excited about the progress of our students in our Pre-K program in Tyler ISD,” Shauna Hittle, executive director of teaching and learning, said. “Our students are indicating excellent readiness skills both academically as well as socially.”
