Hogg MS students win essay contest sponsored by Tyler ISD, Literacy Council, Tyler Paper

February 15, 2017

What’s your favorite book? This was the theme of a student essay contest recently sponsored by Tyler ISD, the Literacy Council of Tyler and the Tyler Morning Telegraph that tasked seventh grade students across the district to describe their favorite book in 250 words or less.

Jesie Espinoza and Troynekia Thomas, both students at Hogg Middle School, claimed first and second place respectively.

So, what are Jesie and Troynekia’s favorite books? Keep an eye out for their submissions to be printed in full in an upcoming edition of the Tyler Morning Telegraph.
