Fit City Tyler 'Fit for Life' youth art contest entry deadline extended

March 30, 2017

Fit City Tyler invites all aspiring artists in grades K-12 to submit their original works of art in the second annual Fit for Life Youth Art Contest sponsored by Cooperative Teachers Credit Union. Students are encouraged to submit original artwork pieces following the theme of “Fit for Life.” The contest is open to all Tyler area students.

Tyler ISD students claimed top prizes in various categories of the contest last year. Students can complete entries through their art classes or individually outside of the school day.

Artwork will be judged in four age categories based on creativity in expression of the theme:

•           Kindergarten through second grade

•           Third through fifth grade

•           Sixth through eighth grade

•           Ninth through twelfth grade

Entry forms and consent forms must accompany each submission and can be found at www.fitcitytyler.com. Entries must be postmarked by Monday, April 17, 2017. Finalists will have their artworks displayed at Cooperative Teachers Credit Union, 1424 W SW Loop 323, beginning in May. First and second place winners will be awarded a cash prize and special recognition at the Lighten Up East Texas/Fit City Tyler celebration in May.
