Commissioner of Education Mike Morath visited Dixie Elementary School Monday afternoon, June 12, as part of efforts to introduce a statewide launch of the new STAAR Report Card for parents. Beginning this summer, Texas parents will have access to greater individualized student information through the new State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR®) Report Card. Commissioner Morath is visiting communities throughout the state to introduce components of the STAAR Report Card, which will be sent to parents by school districts this month.

Comissioner Morath also had the opportunity to tour the Rose City Summer Camp taking place at the campus. Rose City Summer Camps are sponsored by The Mentoring Alliance and combine fun and learning in a summer camp faith-based atomoshere. Every day is packed with activities that students love, while an academic component is woven in to help them start the next school year strong.
