Tyler ISD Career and Technology Center construction science students recently completed their first Tiny Home project that began last spring. Now, they are looking to sell the home so they can begin planning and building a second one.
The 8 by 10 foot structure was originally designed last spring by students in the architecture program. Then students in Bobby Richardson’s construction science class began bringing the plans to life. Unfortunately school let out for the summer before the students could completely finish, so this year’s students tackled the last bit of details needed to put it on the market.
The insulated Tiny Home is equipped with a metal roof, vaulted ceiling, finished out walls and windows, wiring for electrical, tiled floor, a set of cabinets, fiberglass front door and a porch light.
“Our students did a great job getting this Tiny Home to a place where someone can purchase it and really make it their own by finishing it out according to their needs,” Mr. Richardson said. “This year’s students are eager to sell it so that they can get started on the next one and hopefully finish by the end of the year.”
The asking price for the CTC Tiny Home is $2,900. For more information on the home, contact Bobby Richardson at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 903-952-4028.
