February 19, 2018

Moore MST Magnet School students are headed to Austin to compete in the MathCounts state competition on March 24, 2018.

MathCounts is a national program that provides students the opportunity to compete in live, in-person math contests against and alongside their peers. Created in 1983, it is the longest running MathCounts program and is open to all sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students.

The Moore team consisting of Simar Bains, Amy Christian, Angelie Fullo, and Zoe Strain, led by teacher Tamara Bowers, placed first overall against all teams in East Texas. The team also took home the top three individual awards against approximately 60 other competitors; Angelie Fullo placed first, Zoe Strain placed second, and Amy Christian placed third.
