Tyler ISD Board of Trustees celebrated the accomplishments of District students and staff during the regularly scheduled monthly Board of Trustees meeting held February 19.
The District recognized Aliyah Lugo, a fourth grade student at Ramey Elementary School as the Elementary Student of the Month and Anthony Tierrablanca, an sixth grade student at Three Lakes Middle School, as Secondary Student of the Month. Also recognized was CTC Culinary Arts student Keyli Arroyo-Ochoa, a senior from John Tyler High School, for winning first place in the Commercial Baking division of the 2018 Skills USA competition. Keyli will now take her talents to the State level of competition.
Additionally, the District recognized two athletes for their accomplishments at the state level. Haftu Knight, a junior at Robert E. Lee High School, placed 3rd at the State Cross Country Meet and Branson Ellis, a senior at Robert E. Lee High School, won the state championship in pole vault last spring.
Congratulations to Rebecca Anthony, teacher at the Career and Technology Center, for being named the February District Teacher of the Month.
After the recognition portion of the meeting, the Board of Trustees approved the 2018-2019 District School Calendar. The approved calendar can be found here.
