Bonner Elementary School student saw a need and took action

October 18, 2018

Bonner Elementary School fourth grader, Isabella Sains, recently recognized an important need at her school.

After seeing her friend’s need for basic hygiene products, she sprang into action. Bella and her mom took to social media to make a special request for donations of toiletry and clothing items from friends and family.

Toothbrushes, deodorants, hair brushes, soap, shampoo and other items quickly came in, and Bella began packaging the items into special care kits. She created close to 25 kits that will be available through the school counselor for any student who needs them.

Bonner Principal Julie Shumake praises Bella for not only recognizing a need but for taking action.

“We are so proud of Bella for seeing a need and for taking action,” Mrs. Shumake said. “She has a huge heart, and we are so thankful for her desire, determination, and commitment to helping meet the needs her classmates and friends.”
