2018 District Robotics Competition

The 2018 District Robotics Competition featured 37 teams from 16 Tyler ISD campuses. Students in 1st through 8th grades were tasked with creating robotic machines to perform certain tasks. The teams were then scored on a point scale and awarded 1st - 3rd place finishes at the end of the evening. In the above video, District Robotics Coordinator, Hunter McConnell, describes the challenges teams had to complete in order to earn points for their team. 


Congrats to the following Team Winners:

1st – 3rd grade:

1st place: Texas Rangers from Rice with 40  points

2nd place: The Super Robotics Team from Griffin with 39 points

3rd place: Owens Zoobots from Owens with 38 points


Results for 4th – 5th Programming:

1st place: Robo Rangers from Rice with 260 points

2nd place: Dashbots from Griffin with 185 points

3rd place: Ranger Robotics from Rice with 175 points.


Results for 4th – 5th Remote:

1st place: Ro-Pros from Dixie with 505 points


Results from 6th – 8th programming:

1st place: Moore Defenders from Moore with 75 points

2nd place: Robotic Starts from Caldwell with 20 points.
