This Week in Tyler ISD - Jan. 14-18, 2019

January 18, 2019

University of Texas at Tyler (UT Tyler) visited Robert E. Lee High School to award Presidential Fellow Scholarships to 5 seniors. The scholarship covers full tuition and fees for 4 years at the university.

Career and Technology Center (CTC) Engineering students earned their FEMA certifications.

Robert E. Lee athletics greeted Jack Elementary students with smiles and high fives during morning arrival.

The CTC also hosted its Canine Wellness Clinic, allowing students to gain hands-on experience working with live animals while also helping them log hours towards certifications.

The Ramey Elementary Ropers and Heart Throbbers performed at halftime of the UT Tyler women’s and men’s basketball games.

John Tyler AVID students visited Hogg Middle School to share words of encouragement and tips for success with sixth graders.

And we leave you with a little Career Day fun from Peete Elementary School.

Stay tuned next week for another issue of “This Week in Tyler ISD!”
