The Tyler ISD Human Resources department works diligently to attract, engage and retain the best talent to provide quality services to our students. Led by Assistant Superintendent/Chief of Staff Ronald Jones, the HR team utilizes more than 133 combined years of service to support all employees from the beginning to the end of their employment with the District.
“The Tyler ISD Human Resources Department recruits, hires and retains a quality and diverse workforce for the entire District in order to achieve and support the District’s vision of focusing on SUCCESSFUL STUDENT OUTCOMES,” Mr. Jones says.
The major functions of Human Resources include recruiting, hiring, employee orientation and training, verifying certification, setting compensation, establishing and enforcing district policies and processes, developing timelines for staff evaluation and contract renewals, mitigating and investigating complaints or disputes, and interpreting and enforcing employment labor laws.

On average, 528 new hires are processed annually;
On average, 350 internal transfers are processed annually;
Tyler ISD employee counties of origin include Australia, Canada, China, El Salvador, Germany, Mexico, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Spain, Sri Lanka, USA and Venezuela;
Each year, the team conducts over 55 New Employee Orientations to include administrators, teachers, substitutes and auxiliary staff;
Recruits the most qualified candidates by attending over 30 in-state, out-of-state and international job fairs each year.
