Tyler ISD recently entered into a partnership with the City of Tyler to give community access to the District's Aquatic Center, located at 3150 Robertson Rd., as part of the city's summer swim program.
Under the fully executed facilities rental agreement with the District, residents can use the shallow end of the pool during specified times in the summer: 2-7 p.m. Saturdays, 1-7 p.m. Sundays, and 1:30-3:30 p.m. on Thursdays. Additionally, the pool will be open 1:30-3:30 p.m. on Fridays for lap swim only. Two family restroom facilities will also be open, however office and locker room access will not be provided. Additional details outlined in the facility agreement include the staffing of lifeguards and two trained Certified Pool Operators as the responsibility of the City of Tyler.
“We are proud to collaborate on this rental agreement with the City of Tyler,” Tyler ISD Director of Athletics Greg Priest said. “After evaluating scheduling options around club swim practices and meets, resource provisions, entity liabilities and personnel, the City and District determined the agreed upon time slots would best serve the community throughout the summer months.”
